Yom America: Celebrating with Red, White and Blue by Alex Shapiro, Rosh Agam

Yom America was such a special day!

Our chanachim (campers) came to camp in their red, white and blue, and were greeted by a super special rikud (dance) that featured country music on the migrash (field)! The fun continued with colorful face paint, special decorations around the Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall), and singing songs after Birkat Hamazon (the blessing after the meal)!

It can’t be Yom America without red white and blue ice pops, which our campers received at the end of the day!

We can’t wait for all the fun in store for Yom Yisrael!

A young child with curly hair holds a red, white, and blue popsicle and smiles. They wear a “Ramah Day Camp” shirt. Another child in a sunhat and swimsuit stands blurred in the background. They are outside near a brick wall. A smiling young girl in a red polka dot shirt gets her face painted with colorful designs by someone holding a paintbrush. She already has a pink butterfly on her cheek. A young woman and several children, all dressed in colorful summer clothes, hold hands and walk outside on a sunny day. The group is on a grassy field with trees and black barriers in the background. Smiling young boy in a red and navy shirt, patterned swim trunks, and a gray cap sits on a bench outdoors. He wears a red beaded necklace and is next to someone in leopard print shoes. Grass is visible in the background. A smiling person wearing a headband with two red and silver heart antennae stands outside on a sunny day, carrying a gray backpack and wearing a purple shirt. A blurred building and another person are in the background.
