Our First Annual Camp-Wide Scavenger Hunt

Last Friday, camp was buzzing with excitement for our first annual Camp-Wide Scavenger Hunt! Each bunk became its own dynamic team, racing across campus to complete a creative and sometimes downright silly list of challenges that brought out everyone’s energy, imagination, and teamwork.

The hunt included tasks to find, write, create, and perform—from finding obscure objects (paper clips, bandaids, a hair elastic, etc.), to interviewing staff members, to solving puzzles (math, geography, etc) to writing persuasive essays on why Ramah Boston is the best. There was something for every age, a way for everyone to participate.

Here’s what a few campers had to say in their persuasive essays:

“Ramah Boston is the best camp in the world because of the diverse staff, unique curriculum, and flourishing community. Stepping into Camp Ramah you will immediately get over

come by a sense of joy.” – Abby

“Camp Ramah is the best camp in the world because there is really good [choogim], food, and activities. We get to go to the pool four days a week. There are cookies and lighter snacks on Fridays.” — Samara

“Ramah is the best camp in the world because we have kind counselors. We learn Hebrew, every lunch is amazing and kosher. We love being together as a Ramah family; there is no family like it.” – Tzrif 8

“We think Ramah Boston is the best because we have the most fun here. We have a lot of chugim and the counselors are the best in the world.” – Tzrif 6

And, of course, one camper put it plainly:

“And because my mom runs it.” — Danny

In the end, while one bunk did walk away with the coveted title of Scavenger Hunt Champions, the real win was the laughter, the bonding, and the creativity that filled the camp. Campers came together in new ways, discovered hidden talents in each other, and celebrated everything that makes Camp Ramah Boston a place

we all love.

We can’t wait to see how next year’s scavenger hunt will top this one—but if the essays are any indication, we’ve already got the best camp in the world.
