Yom Sport!

The excitement had been building all week long, and on Friday it all came together for one of the most exciting days of the summer: Yom Sport! After our breakout ceremony earlier in the week, our older campers learned whether they would be representing the Blue, Red, Green, or Yellow team. From that moment on, friendly competition filled camp as teams planned strategies, designed colorful posters, made chants, and showed off their team pride.

On Friday, every camper had an important role to play. Whether competing on a team, serving as a team captain, or helping as a judge, everyone contributed to making the day a success. Campers participated in a wide variety of challenges that showed-off different talents and interests. While basketball brought plenty of fast-paced action, flower arranging showcased creativity and teamwork, and chess gave our campers the chance to think strategically, there was truly something for everyone.

One of the day’s favorite traditions also made its return: silent lunch. Campers embraced the challenge with lots of smiles (and plenty of funny attempts to communicate without talking!), making it another memorable part of the day.

Throughout every event, the ruach was impossible to miss. Campers cheered each other on, celebrated big wins, and encouraged their teammates from start to finish. Although the Green Team ultimately took home the victory, every team brought enthusiasm, determination, and incredible sportsmanship that made the day unforgettable.
