Camper Care Feature!
Behind every great camp experience is an even greater team.
At Ramah Boston, the staff bring energy, care, and intentionality to everything they do. From guiding campers through new activities to helping campers navigate friendships and challenges, counselors are role models, mentors, and cheerleaders all in one.
Rabbi Gelb, CEO of Ramah New England, has long taught (in the name of John Wooden), “It’s not what you say, it’s what you emphasize”. We say that camper care is important to us and our actions and the resources that we put behind camper care have always supported that statement. But this year, we’re taking the emphasis to a new level.
We’ve introduced a new Camper Care program designed to further support our campers. Each Tuesday, bunk staff meet with their Rosh Edah, Yoetz/et, and Assistant Director, Michal Goldberg, to reflect on the previous week (or days) and start to create plans to ensure that every camper continues to thrive and enjoy a successful summer at camp. On Wednesday, those same counselors present their plans to Rabbi Silverman (camp director) for approval and additional feedback. This ensures that everyone from counselors to director are on board with plans to help each and every camper succeed.
At Ramah, campers quickly learn that they are supported, valued, and encouraged to be their best selves. That feeling of being seen and cared for is what transforms camp into a place where everyone belongs.
Camper care is the heart of Ramah, and it is something the community sees in action every single day.
