Celebrating Community During Shabbat B’Yachad!

On Friday evening, camp was filled with even more excitement than usual as families joined us for our annual Shabbat B’Yachad celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity for parents, siblings, and loved ones to connect with other people in the Ramah community.

The evening began with a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat service, where campers, staff, and families welcomed Shabbat together through prayer and song. Singing side by side, with so many members of our community gathered in one place, made for a warm and memorable start to the evening.

After the service, each edah took the stage to perform its Zimriyah song. Throughout the week, campers had been practicing with their groups, and Friday was their chance to share all of their hard work with their families. Every performance brought its own energy and personality, and it was wonderful to see campers smiling with pride while families clapped, sang along, and cheered them on.

Once the performances wrapped up, everyone gathered for a community dinner. Families had the chance to spend time together, meet staff members and fellow camp families, and enjoy a delicious Shabbat meal. The chadar was filled with conversation, laughter, and the kind of joyful atmosphere that makes Shabbat at camp feel so special.

Shabbat B’Yachad is one of those evenings that reminds us what Ramah is all about. While campers experience the magic of camp every day, this event gives families the chance to be part of it too, as they can share in the music, traditions, and strong sense of community that define our summers. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a meaningful celebration of Shabbat.
