Etgar Adventure Camp: A Week of Outdoor Fun!

This week marked the exciting launch of our new Etgar Adventure Camp, and what a start it’s been! From the very first day, our campers dove right into the action—literally—with a kayaking trip on the Charles River. In pairs, they paddled along the scenic waterway, enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and each other’s company. The laughter and smiles were endless as the kids learned new skills, got splashed (intentionally and not!), and soaked up the joy of being outside and active.

Tuesday brought a change of scenery as we headed indoors to Central Rock Gym for a rock climbing adventure. With harnesses secured and spirits high, campers tested their limits on the climbing walls, learning to challenge themselves while cheering each other on. It was a day of teamwork, perseverance, and accomplishment—exactly the kind of experience we envisioned for Etgar.

Wednesday offered a slower pace but no less excitement. We spent the morning at Cornerstone Ranch, where campers had the opportunity to ride horses and enjoy life on the ranch. The peacefulness of the open land and the gentle rhythm of horseback riding provided a perfect midweek reset. From there, we traveled to Camp Ramah New England, our sister overnight camp in Palmer, MA. While the campers were thrilled to set up their sleeping bags in a treehouse, Mother Nature had a different plan. Thunderstorms pushed us indoors to the Beit Am Gadol, but that didn’t dampen the fun—after a hearty dinner with the rest of the camp, our group turned the night

into an indoor adventure.

Thursday’s planned hike through Purgatory Chasm was rained out, but our spirits weren’t! Instead, the campers enjoyed a lively, song-filled bus ride back to our home base, where we wrapped up the overnight with creative in-camp activities and plenty of laughs.

We ended the week on a high—literally—at TreeTop Adventures in Canton. Campers climbed through ropes courses high in the trees, zipping, balancing, and swinging their way through a full day of treetop fun. The thrill of adventure and the sense of accomplishment after completing the courses made it the perfect finale. To top it all off, we headed to Crescent Ridge for a well-deserved ice cream treat, where campers shared their favorite moments of the week over cones and sundaes. It was the sweetest ending to a week full of challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories.
