Thrills, Chills, and Camper Smiles: Our Trip to Six Flags!
This past Wednesday was a huge day for our Nitzanim, Tamarim, Alonim, and MaKoR campers! Even before entering the building that morning, you could feel just how excited the campers were to go to Six Flags. As we loaded on to the bus, campers filed into seats, ready to start the journey. To pass the time, some campers sang songs they had learned during Tefillah and Shira this summer, while others strategized about which rides they would go on and in what order. The campers were practically jumping out of their seats with excitement as we pulled into the Six Flags parking lot!

The first stop for everyone was the Picnic Grove, so we could put down our bags and say hello to our friends from Ramah Palmer who were also visiting Six Flags that day. Campers and counselors from both camps were so happy to see each other again! After this, campers quickly got into their groups. These groups were determined based on what kinds of rides they wanted to go on, low intensity, medium intensity, high intensity, and/or water rides. Once they were in their groups, they were off to explore the park.

Our campers truly took advantage of everything Six Flags had to offer! Some of the rides they went on were the SkyScreamer, the Wicked Cyclone, Pandemonium, Thunderbolt, the carousel, the Riddler’s Revenge, the Joker, the Dino Off Road Adventure, and the highly anticipated Superman. Within Hurricane Harbor, the waterpark section of Six Flags, campers also enjoyed the pool, the Hurricane Falls and Shark Attack waterslides, the wave pool, and the lazy river.

As you can imagine, by the end of our time at Six Flags, the campers were exhausted from all of the fun they had been having. While we trekked back to the bus, campers reminisced with each other and their counselors about their favorite parts of the day. Many campers also talked about how they tried things slightly out of their comfort zone and ultimately overcame some of their fears. You could tell how proud they were of themselves, which made an already amazing day even better.

We hit some traffic on the bus ride back to camp, but campers stayed busy by talking to each other. When we got back to camp, we continued our late night tradition of having a waffle bar thanks to Rabbi Silverman and Kelly Kossar. While a long day, the trip to Six Flags was definitely the highlight of the summer for most campers.
