Shabbat B’Yachad

We had a wonderful time welcoming families to camp last Friday for Shabbat B’Yachad (Shabbat together). We began all together in the beit midrash for performances and a lively service. Nitzanim, Tamarim, and Alonim performed a dance, Aravot and Shorashim sang “Shabbat is Coming,” and Anafim, Garinim, and Etzim performed the song “Acheinu” that we sing every day during Limmud (learning).

Cantor Oren Kaunfer led us in a spirited Kabbalat Shabbat service, and the room was filled with ruach (spirit). After praying together, we had a delicious Shabbat dinner. We made blessings over grape juice and challah, and our meal had special additions like strawberry basil water and so many chocolate chip cookies for dessert! At every table counselors, campers, and their families enjoyed getting to

know each other and celebrating Shabbat together.
