Teva: Nature’s Wonders

A group of twelve smiling children stand in a green, wooded area, some raising their hands in excitement. Fallen branches and leaves are in the foreground, with tall trees and dense foliage behind them.

At our Teva chug, we have been learning about the development of human civilization through the construction of our very own ‘forest village’. We have been utilizing raw materials found exclusively in nature, some team work, and a lot of imagination to get the job done.

The campers have gravitated towards their preferred specialized roles as either builders, tool-makers, farmers, foragers, ‘medics’, etc. In this way, we have been able to discover in real-time the need for specialized labor, cohesion, architecture, urban planning, rationing resources, and more, all while having an incredible time!
