Vocational Education @ Camp

One of my favorite parts of my job at camp is working with our vocational education program, supporting two young adults with disabilities in learning job skills and being part of the camp community. We have a daily meeting to review our schedule, check in with each other, support each other in reaching our goals and do a skill building activity. During the first few weeks we have been exploring new and different ways to fill our free time through board games and art. Our vocational education participants also assist with the office, chadar ochel (dining hall) setup, limmud (learning) and omanut (art) and get to participate in their favorite camp activities like swimming, rikud (dance) and tefillah (prayer). We can’t wait to see what else we get to experience and learn for the rest of the summer!
