Welcome Letter

Shalom Families,

Bruchim HaBayim L’Kayitz 2024! (Welcome to Kayitz 2024!) Thank you for registering your child(ren) for camp and for joining our growing Ramah community. We are planning an exciting summer and can’t wait for June to arrive!

Ramah is committed to high-quality programming, Jewish living, and excellence in camper care. The most important thing to us is that every child feels safe and comfortable at camp and is assisted in establishing and maintaining sacred relationships. To do this, we keep careful watch on each child’s experience in real time. We know that if children are happy and making friends, they can take full advantage of our program while building their skills in sports, arts, outdoor recreation, and more.

Camp Ramah is known to be an innovative Jewish experiential educational program. We want all our campers, no matter their background, to feel comfortable in a Jewish environment and learn skills they can use throughout their lives. We know that there are many entry points into Judaism that will speak differently to each child and will sometimes change throughout a camper’s lifetime. We provide opportunities to spark interest, growth, and leadership opportunities in prayer, learning, the arts, outdoor education, community celebration, song and dance, and more.

As the summer approaches, we will be in touch to introduce you to key staff members, to share logistical information, and to schedule a time for you to meet with a senior staff member for a conversation about your child so we can prepare for their success. We know that when we are in conversation with you about your child(ren) in advance of the summer, they are better set up for success.

Finally, over the course of the next few months, we will communicate with you regularly about important forms and other necessary pre-camp preparations (most of which are included in this mailing). We utilize these forms to prepare for each child and it is imperative that parents fill each form out completely and in a timely manner.

I am excited to introduce you to Marissa Barashi, our Boston registrar. Marissa can be reached at MarissaB@campramahne.org. If you have any questions about submitting forms, please know that Marissa is here to help you every step of the way. We have created a helpful step-by-step instruction sheet, which you can find on our website at: https://ramahboston.org/current-families/before-camp.

In the meantime, I want you to know that you can always contact me directly if you have any concerns or worries about your child’s experience. During the summer, I, along with the rest of our senior staff, are actively involved in camper life, in partnership with our Roshei Edot (division heads) and Yoetzim (camper care specialists).

Again, thank you for being a part of the Ramah family and please be in touch with any questions or concerns.

B’vracha,

Rabbi Rachel Silverman
